CP Kids

CP Kids, Centerpoint Church’s ministry for infants through fifth grade, is held during all weekend services and combines the critical influences of the church and home to INCITE WONDER, PROVOKE DISCOVERY and FUEL PASSION FOR JESUS in the hearts of our next generation.

Our Mission: To love and lead children to a life changing connection with Christ.

First Time Visitors

Kids [infants through fifth grade] are invited to check into Kidsworld. Follow the signs and find your way to our Central Check-in located to the left of the main worship center where we will enter your information into our system, print out your child’s nametags, and give you a corresponding number to match your child’s nametag [this will assist you during check out]. Then we’ll be happy to direct you to your children’s classrooms.

Preschool [Birth-Kindergarten]

First impressions are important. That’s why we have chosen our First Look curriculum to give preschool children a first impression of their loving heavenly Father. The curriculum keeps it simple and fun, repeating one basic truth about God all month long. First Look also helps children understand worship and introduces them to small group time.

The activities engage all the senses, making mastering the concepts a blast. Crazy fun activities to crafts to large group Bible story and worship time to small group Bible time, it’s all part of the plan to help a child believe three key things by the time he’s five years old:

God made me.

God loves me.

Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Elementary [1st-5th grade]

Our goal is to equip kids from kindergarten through fifth grade with basic truths. In fact, when a kid transitions into middle school, we want that child to have experienced and own three basic truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52.

I need to make the wise choice.

I can trust God no matter what.

I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

So that’s the foundation, but we do more than teaching three basic ideas. We also take kids into the heart of God’s Big Story.

The story of God reveals the character of God.

Our curriculum is organized around key Bible stories that help kids discover Jesus, believe His Gospel, and reflect His character to the world around them. And to make it easy to understand, everything is unpacked through weekly Bottom Lines—short phrase that are so easy to remember they can be reinforced at home throughout the week.

On the whole, Kidsworld will invite kids into the Story of God, to show them the character of God, all while helping them internalize the 3 Basic Truths. We will also throw in some unforgettable illustrations, activities, and graphics to capture their attention and keep it relevant and fun.

This program is for children who have special needs. We offer a classroom environment with flexible, sensory-minded curriculum and play during our 10:30am service on Sundays. Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds, but they all share a heart for loving and leading children with special needs to a life-changing connection with Christ. We invite new families to apply to our program prior to attending. This will give us the opportunity to ensure that we have appropriate accommodations available. Upon request, we would love to match your child with a one-on-one buddy in a room with their typical peers. However, this accommodation is offered on a first come, first served basis, and is dependent on the number of volunteers available on a given day.

Please contact Aaron Capen if you have any questions or concerns.

Parents, please complete the Intake Form prior to the first time your child participates in Special Blessings.

Partnering with Parents

We know that no one has more influence in children’s lives than their parents. We want to collaborate our efforts to maximize the spiritual impact in every child’s faith. Our goal is to provide parents, the spiritual leaders of each child’s home; with the tools and resources they need to help them bring the Bible to life for their kids. As kids learn Bible truths and experience God’s love at both home and at church.

None of our curriculum would be complete without parent pieces to synchronize the home with what’s going on at church. We call them Parent CUES because they’re designed to “cue” parents to leverage everyday moments with their child to Connect to God’s story, to Uncover something about life, and to Experience something together.

Parent CUE: Notes to parents that help them know what was talked about with their child this week, and to CUE them to continue the conversation at home.

GodTime Card: Kids’ notes to help children establish a consistent devotional experience is a fun, kid-focused website filled with cues to help families grow in faith and character. Based on Moses’ teaching in Deuteronomy 6, offers resources to help Centerpoint families connect at strategic times of the day—MorningTime, MealTime, DriveTime and BedTime—to help reinforce key biblical concepts through music, videos and activities. And for a mobile solution, look for the Parent CUE App available for iPhone, iPad or Android.
